Old Town Busking
With its cobblestone charm and historic soul, Old Town Alexandria became Dan’s first stage. In late 2023, armed with a portable PA and Sinatra standards, he began performing for passersby along King Street and the waterfront. The blend of vintage jazz and open-air setting stopped locals in their tracks and often their scrolls, as clips of his performances quickly gained traction online. These humble sidewalk shows laid the foundation for his rapidly growing fanbase and viral presence.
Carbonara Restaurant
Set against the soft glow of chandeliers and the clink of wine glasses, Dan brought smooth jazz standards to one of Arlington’s most sophisticated Italian dining spots. Carbonara’s intimate atmosphere was the perfect match for his velvet like croon, filling the room with timeless melodies and romantic energy. Whether guests were savoring pasta or sharing a bottle of Barolo, Dan’s set added a layer of elegance to every course.
More than a performance, Jam OTA is a movement. Hosted and organized by Dan Murray, this weekly Sunday jazz jam typically takes place at The Pier Bar in Old Town from 6-9 pm. These community-driven sessions invite local musicians to join in, improvise, and create magic together. With regular appearances from a rotating house band and an open invite to all, Jam OTA is where timeless jazz meets raw, real energy.
